Why does standing seam cost more than exposed-fastener?

Is standing seam noisy in the rain?

Less than people expect once it's installed over solid decking with proper underlayment — the deck and underlayment absorb most of the sound. It's the open-purlin, no-deck installs (common on pole barns) that carry more sound indoors, which is one reason we don't recommend that approach on occupied living space.

What's oil-canning and will it happen to my roof?

Oil-canning is the wavy, rippled look that can appear on flat panel sections, mostly cosmetic and more visible on lighter colors and lower-gauge panels in direct low-angle sun.
